Hourly Rate
My hourly rate is $500.00. Pre-mediation and post-mediation work, such as reviewing the parties' submissions, telephone conferences, and testimony at a deposition or hearing will be billed at this same rate.
Travel Time
At present, I do not charge for travel time to mediations within Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Manatee or Sarasota counties. For travel time to mediations outside those counties, I charge $250 per hour for full-day mediations and $375 per hour for half-day mediations.
Expenses
I do not charge expenses for (1) travel within the State of Florida; (2) fees for providers of video-conferencing services; (3) electronic research fees; (4) small numbers of copies or printing; or (5) postage. Actual expenses (except as provided above) shall be added to my fees.
Minimum Fees & Cancellations
I charge a minimum of two hours for a half-day mediation and a minimum of five hours for a full-day mediation. Those minimums will apply to any mediation cancelled with less than three full business days' notice.
Allocation of Fees
The parties may agree as to how responsibility for payment of the mediator's fees and expenses will be allocated among the parties. Absent other agreement of the parties, for two-party cases fees and expenses shall be divided equally between the parties and for other cases fees and expenses shall be appropriately divided between the parties; however, where a party fails to appear for mediation or where a mediation is cancelled without sufficient notice and without consent of all parties, the full amount of the fee may be assessed against the party (or parties) who fail to appear or who cause the late cancellation. Invoices are due and payable on receipt.
